Rolf Prima Company History

“The original company founder, Mr Rolf Dietrich, invented the pair spoke concept way back in 1997 Rather than traditional spokes that are evenly spaced, these spokes are paired closely together and usually under very high tension. Rolf figured out how to make a reduced spoke count wheel whilst maintaining strength, which ultimately resulted in aerodynamic improvements. The first production model, the Vector, sold like hotcakes, and Rolf’s wheels were soon spotted on the bikes of a certain high-profile American team at the 1999 Tour de France. A lot has changed since then, nowadays, the company is based in Eugene, Oregon, where all of the wheels are built in-house.”

The Adventure Continues

“The evolution of adventure riding continues, and Hyalite 25 is here to see it through. Based on the best-selling design of our Hyalite models, the Hyalite 25 steps things up with a wider internal width, perfect for wide-tires and exploring the wide world. At 25mm internal, it picks up where all-road and gravel wheels leave off. Our asymmetric rim design improves the tension balance by up to 30%! Ready for any adventure, from back road rambles to bike-packing explorations, rough and tumble races to weeks of loaded touring.”
