Dogs Chasing Cyclists: Volume 2
If you ride mixed surface roads as often as I do, you’ll likely have encountered a loose dog. Some dogs may be friendly, many will chase, and in most cases, riding away from them plays into their game. Most of these dogs are bored, so a chase can be the highlight of their day. Multiple cyclists can make these situations even more challenging.

This video chronicles how I handle dogs riding solo or in a very small group, I generally slow down, and interact with the dog, sometimes taking an aggressive tone if needed. I received a lot of feedback from my first video on this topic, that is linked below. No dogs were harmed during the filming of this video, I don’t carry sprays or other weapons. Your methods may vary, ride safe and have fun.
