Cycling During the Florida Drought
At the time of this video, Florida is experiencing its most severe drought in over 25 years, with nearly the entire state affected and widespread impacts on water resources, agriculture, and wildfire risk.

With more than 70% of the state classified as experiencing severe to exceptional drought according to the U.S. Drought Monitor, Northern and Central Florida are particularly affected, with shallow aquifers at historically low levels.
The impacts of this drought are widespread, including many of the mixed-surface roads that we love to ride and explore in North Central Florida, The town of White Springs, whose surrounding forest roads are quite sandy at the best of times, prove to be extra challenging with this ride plan devised by Graham of Florida Bike Adventures.

Towns visited in this video include:
- White Springs, Florida
- Jasper, Florida
Rivers visited in this video include:
- Suwanee River
- Dead River
- Alapaha River

In this video, JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew rides with Graham of Florida Bike Adventures and friends, rambling about the North Florida countryside. This ride is hot, sandy, humid, and challenging. Good chance JOM cracked at some point along the course.
