Schwalbe claims the G-One RS PRO is the brand’s fastest gravel tire, and this is the largest version at 700c x 55mm. It’s available in all black, and a tan /transparent sidewall color in most of the sizes, which are 700c x 35 up to 700c x 55 in 5mm increments, There’s also a 650b x 45mm option as well.

In this video, JOM of Gravel Cyclist provides a long-term review of the Schwalbe G-One RS Pro gravel tire in the 700c x 55mm size.

Schwalbe G-One RS PRO 700c x 55mm Written Ride Experience
I’ve racked up over 1,250 miles or 2,000 kilometers on the Schwalbes thus far, and as you can see from the rear tire / tyre wear below, they are doing pretty well considering this is a race tire/ tyre. The front is wearing very well, even some of the flashing remains.

For the tire / tyre pressure, I’ve been running these low, anywhere from 20 at the rear to about 17 on the front. Sometimes, I may have run them a little lower due to me neglecting to inflate them at times, but either way, they provide plenty of comfort, and offer a legitimate alternative to suspension stems, forks, and so on. Think pneumatic suspension. They hold air quite well, but expect to lose a few psi over the space of a week.
They’re heavy on the scale, but they don’t feel lumbering or slow, which was a nice surprise. Still, it does take a little effort to wind them up, but paired to a sweet wheelset such as the Zipp 303 XPLR S, these tyres just tick along, they are very very fast on hardpack, medium gravel, and dirt road surfaces.

What really surprised me was how well these Schwalbe’s performed on surface conditions where I would desire a more aggressive tread pattern. It helps to have a light touch on the bike if that makes sense, but I rolled rocky surfaces, historic railway bridges, hiking tracks, and a lot more. The Schwalbe’s just hooked up with the traction, even when ascending very steep grades.
These tires / tyres really shined when descending in places I thought a mountain bike would be better suited. These casing just steam roll everything, their width and comfort instilled so much confidence, I just dropped my weight back and let the bike float. Should you encounter sandy conditions, a sand pit, and so on, these wide casing are an absolutely unfair advantage, made more advantageous if you have good skills. They just smash everything, and I mean that in a good way.

Cornering, well, I don’t lean hard into any corner on loose gravel surfaces, that’s just asking for trouble, but I had no worries taking any and all corners riding these tires / tyres. I cannot speak for mud performance, I would choose a narrower mud specific tire / tyre if I was expecting to ride in slop. Wet pavement, or dirt roads that have seen rain, but not to the point of mud, those conditions won’t trouble these tires / tyres.
During the period of the review, hopefully I’m not jinxing myself for later, no punctures of any kind, and no cuts or physical damage to the tires / tyres.
Wrapping up, these tyres aren’t cheap at about $US 91 a single tyre, but I have come away very impressed with this tire’s / tyre’s fabulous overall performance, in fact, I put them into the category of an amazing all rounder. They’re heavy, but I barely noticed the weight when trundling along, and that even includes riding some spirited group rides with mates rolling these tires / tyres.
