RIDE VIDEO: 130 miles of mixed surface cycling on a super hot day – Branford, Florida

Filmed on Saturday, 15th September, 2018, JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew set out to ride 130 miles, along a route he’d been kicking around for some time. This was a good idea in theory, except for the part that record high temperatures were forecast on this day. With the mercury hovering around 97 degrees Fahrenheit / 36 Celcius and mega humidity, hiding indoors was probably a better idea.

130 miles of mixed surface cycling, starting in Gainesville, Florida, passing through Branford, Florida, the Suwanee River and surrounding areas; compressed into about five minutes.

Nice video JOM about your rides in north Florida but as your concerned teammate I don’t cotton to these long Walk About rides of yours during the summer heat. You are a nutter!

    New vocabulary for Florida.

I’ve noticed the best Florida rides are either North or South of Gainesville.
In California natives refer to this as either NoCal or SoCal. Thus please refer now to Northern or Southern Florida as NoFla or SoFla respectively.

Example: “Today we rode the Flappalachians of NoFla.”
