Stockholm Gravel
You might think that Stockholm is like many other large cities with lots of traffic and only paved roads. This is only partly true; the city has an abundance of green and recreational areas. Beyond the confines of the city, you are never far from the forest, the archipelago and the smaller gravel roads in between.
Sweden also has something else that is unique, it is called Allemansrätt in Swedish, and it means that everyone has the right to roam on anyone’s land. For instance, you have the right to traverse gated tracks, trails and roads, provided you respect the land, and close the gates afterwards. This gives exploring gravel cyclists enormous freedoms and an enormous network of gravel roads to explore! This paradise is all within the vicinity of a major city like Stockholm.
In this people-friendly and close-to-nature environment, our bike-travel company INZAIN Cycling Adventures has begun operations with a new adventure. This offering includes a week of exclusive, guided cycling in various environments around Stockholm, the archipelago, which is one of the biggest in the world. There is also the history ride, visiting castles ranging from 300 to 500 years old, the “forest run” and much more.
Have a spouse, partner or traveling companion who doesn’t ride? We have that covered as well. There will be guided tours to the major sights in Stockholm, exclusive shopping and dining, historical visits to the Viking town of Birka and the castle of Drottningholm, where the royals live. Alternatively, why not take a fast RIB-boat ride out in the vast archipelago?
During the week-long itinerary, there will be possibilities for couples participating in cycling or other activities, to meet for lunch at some of the locations. We believe this will be the perfect vacation for our visitors, providing a bit of both worlds; cycling for the gravel enthusiast in combination with interesting options for non-cycling partners.

Accommodations for this adventure comprise two hotels, the first being the modern Ellery Beach House, situated by the Baltic sea, but still close to Stockholm. For the second half, we stay at an old palace dating from the 1600’s. Both accommodations provide a luxurious setting but in slightly different ways.
