It’s a discipline without discipline, making rules by braking rules. It is the cycling equivalent to a blank canvas, a discipline open to interpretation. Ask 10 people for their definition of gravel and you are likely to receive at least 7 different answers. However, no matter where you fall in the spectrum from gravel racer to epic adventurer there are a few constants: reliability and performance ensure a better experience. Reynolds produces better experiences no matter your definition of gravel.
While the varied nature of gravel makes it challenging to develop a single solution that addresses the specific needs of every rider for every ride. However, Reynolds has developed two solutions that not only cover the entire spectrum of gravel but ensure the best tool for the specific use case on either side of the spectrum.

The Reynolds Gravel range is comprised of two models, ATR and G Series, both of which maintain the Reynolds industry leading performance and durability, supported by a lifetime guarantee. Despite their difference in appearance, they both incorporate tubeless straight side construction with 25MM channels, thus allowing tire compatibility from 30mm to as large as you care to use.
While both solutions are so perfectly built to perform and excel over such a wide variety of terrain and situations, most riders would find total satisfaction in their gravel riding atop either G Series or ATR wheels. However, the two designs address the more specific needs on the two extreme ends of the spectrum.
If you are contemplating a set of Reynolds wheels, then you’ve already made the most important decision towards improving your time in the saddle. Selecting between two amazing designs with specific benefits will serve to amplify that improved experience even further.
Do you ride technical, tight terrain and/or prefer to use larger tires for a more compliant ride? Then the lower profile G Series is more than likely the solution for you.
If you are searching for aerodynamic efficiency for your competitive gravel ambitions, then the ATR and its best-in-class AERO design is the wheelset you cannot do without.
ATR Family
Such a complete range ensures that there is no reason every discerning cyclist who values well built, reliable, performance wheel solutions to improve their experience in the saddle can find the perfect product for his or her ride. By applying the same principles of development and production used to create best-in-class wheels for road and all MTB disciplines, it is of no surprise that the family of gravel wheels by Reynolds is yet again, ahead of the rest. By developing specific solutions and unique rim profiles for every product, to engineer a complete wheel system rather than a compromised collection of parts, using only the finest materials available makes for a standout product. Producing it entirely in house, from development to prototype to production in wholly owned factories guarantees a quality control that is the envy of nearly every brand in the market. While it might appear to be fancy marketing language, when out on a self-supported ride through the middle of nowhere during your next gravel adventure, that sort of guarantee becomes invaluable.

“ATR is Aero Gravel”
The emergence of gravel racing, in all of its formats, is no longer a niche and is a bona fide segment of the cycling landscape. From professional races to amateur events, competitive gravel racing incorporates grueling distances, and blazing speeds. So competitive has it become that speeds rival those on the road at times, which means technical advantages, similar to those found on the road can translate into similar performance gains. With this philosophy the Reynolds engineers set out to create the most efficient, performance oriented gravel wheel the gravel world has ever known.

The 42mm depth of the fastest gravel rim from Reynolds is the fruit of a great deal of research and development both in the field and in the wind tunnel to guarantee its absolute supremacy above its competition according to our internally developed RAV score testing paradigm.
Aerodynamic advantages are possible with tire sizes up to 45mm and as such the ATR’s newly developed DET2 profile was created to ensure the most efficient, stable and versatile performance possible, optimized for tire sizes ranging between 35 and 45mm.

The aerodynamic efficiency is such for this wheelset that its extremely efficient profile and fantastic ride quality position it perfectly to pull duty on the road as well. Not only capable but enough to be very competitive on the asphalt, putting the ROAD in ATR in other words.
Although the most significant aerodynamic gains are to be gained in the sweet spot of 35-45mm the ATR offers a high degree of versatility thanks to its complete compatibility with tires ranging from 30 to 50mm, giving additional credence to the ALL TERRAIN portion of the ATR acronym.

The 25mm TSS (Tubeless Straight Side) channel improves tire fit and low pressure tire performance, thus creating better handling and efficiency in addition to an overall more compliant ride. Such a wide channel contributes to aerodynamic performance as well by allowing for a more efficient shape for coherently sized tires (35-45mm) to pair with the aerodynamic profile of the rim to create even less drag.
The meticulously designed and internally developed CR6 laminate schedule makes for a final product that is an engineering feat in and of itself. The sophisticated materials and particular layup combine to create an amazingly lightweight structure that is equally capable of maintaining Reynolds industry leading durability, backed up by the brand’s lifetime rim guarantee. The 1405gr wheelset packs an amazing level of performance, durability and efficiency in one package to rule them all.

Amongst the lightest and certainly the most durable in the industry, the ATR’s magic comes from that same innovative layup being designed in such a way to also confer an unmatched ride quality. Not only does ATR represent the best in performance, stability and long haul efficiency, but it does so with tactile feedback that can’t be found in other wheels.
If you prefer your gravel riding with a number pinned to your back, then the ATR has all the numbers to guarantee the fastest solution for your ride. Its industry leading aerodynamic design, extremely efficient power transfer, compliant structure, unmatched ride quality, lightweight construction and absolute best in class durability (backed by a lifetime rim guarantee) put it atop the podium of competitive gravel wheels. Choose ATR and you are one step closer to the top step of whatever podium upon which you have set your sights.
G Series
The varied nature of gravel means often times you’ll find yourself taking on challenging terrain, requiring more of you and your equipment. If your interpretation of gravel takes you far from the asphalt and hard pack surfaces and into the technical terrain, if the need for compliance outweighs aerodynamics and if the situation calls for a lighter, more reactive solution the Reynolds G Series line of gravel wheels should be your choice. The G Series wheels are designed around offering maximum benefit for larger tire combinations. Its 25mm TSS internal channel makes it completely compatible with all modern gravel and mountain tires and offers the versatility to decide from dimensions ranging from 30mm to as large as you care to go. The frame is your limit with G Series.

Data from Reynolds aerodynamic testing proves that tire dimensions above 45mm in size negate any conceivable benefit deriving from aero rim design. With tire dimensions of 45mm and upwards, Reynolds engineers developed a rim that sought to confer tangible performance advantages for its specific application: weight reduction, compliance and supreme technical handling.

The extremely shallow 26mm rim design eliminates unnecessary material and makes for an amazingly lightweight structure. Weighing a scant 1357gr the G Series wheels are perfectly matched for tackling tough gradients and technical climbs, making for an extremely efficient wheelset.
Low profiles do more than simply reduce weight but contribute an added degree in compliance as well. The shallow design and meticulous CR6 carbon layup allow for more vertical flex and perfectly calculated ride quality. This design and construction together with the higher volume tires and low pressure compatibility, make for an amazingly compliant ride.
A compliant ride is potentially a faster one and with technical, disconnected terrain at speed comes the need for extreme durability. While the G Series wheels are lightweight and efficient, they remain faithful to Reynolds’ dedication towards creating extreme performance that lasts. Built to perform as well after several seasons as they did on day one, the Reynolds G Series wheels incorporate a complex carbon layup that uses our proprietary IDM (Impact Dispersion Matrix) material. The complex Reynolds MR5 carbon layup, IDM material and overall construction derive from the technologies that create the strongest and most reliable wheelsets in world cup downhill and enduro, yet in a package tailor made for gravel.

Unbelievably robust and reliable, amazingly lightweight, extremely reactive and pleasantly compliant, the G Series gravel wheels from Reynolds are designed and built with zero compromises. Should you care to find one, atop the G Series, you’ll have a long and pleasant journey ahead of you.
