Oregon-based wheel manufacturer Rolf Prima has announced two new aluminum all-road wheelsets to their line, the Vigor AR and the Vigor AR Stealth. The new models share the unique 30mm rim depth of the longstanding best-sellers the Vigor and Vigor Alpha Stealth, but with a fully re-designed 24mm internal width rim approved for on and off road drop-bar applications. The house-made rims are hooked and approved for tires ranging from 28-50mm.

The Vigor AR features 20 Sapim CX Speed spokes laced to a proprietary XST hub platform made by sibling brand White Industries in Petaluma California. The Vigor AR Stealth takes things up a notch with a cerakoted “stealth” grey hubshell, Enduro Zer0 ceramic bearings and, as pioneered by the EOS AR carbon model, only 16 Sapim CX Ray spokes front and rear. Wheelset weights are 1645 and 1545, respectively.

“During the development of the carbon EOS AR we learned we could reduce spoke-counts to 16-hole front and rear on a disc brake wheel,” says engineer, William Reen. “Now we’re delivering that same race-focused design in a USA made alloy rim.”

The 30mm depth is unique compared to most aluminum wheels, but is a long-standing design approach for Rolf Prima. They have made deeper alloy wheels with aero benefits since the early 2000’s.

“Over the last couple of years, our ‘all-road’ offerings have become the strongest sellers in our line, says General Manager, Jimmy Krigbaum. “This model checks the same boxes as our top-tier carbon offerings such as the EOS AR but at a more affordable price. With some clever materials manipulation and design from the engineering team, their weights rival carbon models resulting in a performance-oriented wheelset at home in a wide range of applications.”

The Vigor AR retails for $1199.00 and the Vigor AR Stealth sells for $1599.00. Both models are fully built in Eugene, Oregon. The Vigor AR Stealth is available now with the Vigor AR model following in August.
