LOOK Cycle has unveiled the G85 CezalRS, a high-performance carbon gravel bike engineered specifically for riders seeking precision, reactivity, and speed across medium to long distances. Designed, assembled, and tested at LOOK’s headquarters in Burgundy, France, the new RS variant combines LOOK’s elite road-racing lineage with rough-terrain compliance.

Featuring a modern gravel geometry, the G85 CezalRS has been designed around real-world demands rather than the spec sheet. Built around three core pillars, versatile performance, responsive handling, and balanced component selection, it prioritizes racing needs to deliver a competition-ready setup for 99% of race scenarios.

As the race version of the G85 Cezal, it retains the geometry that made the platform’s reputation, including short 425 mm chainstays, a lively front end, and exceptional handling. Rather than sacrificing overall performance as gravel bikes become more aerodynamic each season, LOOK put aerodynamics where it pays, in the rider position and cockpit. Everything else was given to handling, ground control, and power transfer where seconds are lost on descents, rough sections, and late-race fatigue.

The G85 CezalRS is built on the brand’s excellence in carbon production, offering a newly redesigned High Modulus (HM) carbon layup that saves 200 grams on the frame alone compared to the standard G85 Cezal. This boosted layup increases bottom bracket stiffness by 19% and head tube stiffness by 20% over the base model, powering sprints, climbs, and accelerations without compromising compliance. At the rear, the 3D Wave Flex System seatstays filter 15% of vibrations without compromising lateral power transfer, keeping wheels in contact with the terrain. This prevents power loss from pedalling interruptions and the necessity to impact rolling efficiency when switching to bigger tyres.

The G85 CezalRS has a tire clearance for up to 57mm front / 50mm rear on 1x setups (45mm on 2x), a deliberate choice from LOOK, opting for short chainstays and a snappy ride, rather than maximum clearance. The frame geometry is ready for suspension forks up to 60mm. Completing the setup, the G85 CezalRS features a T47 bottom bracket, UDH dropout, 12mm thru-axles, 160mm flat-mount disc brakes, and a 27.2mm carbon seatpost.

At just 1000g (size M), the frame has been built to withstand ISO +50% impact forces. The head tube stiffness reaches a Zedler score of 94 (outscoring LOOK’s BladeRS 3 road bike at 90), ensuring razor-sharp steering even on the hardest of gravel routes.

With the G85 CezalRS, LOOK has prioritized real-world control over deep tube shapes with its aerodynamic design. In a 146km race simulation, pure aero frames saved 137 seconds on paper. However, harsh rides can cost riders 63–84 seconds on technical descents and 60 to 100 seconds from pedalling interruptions over bumps. The result: proof that comfort, control, and rider position yield faster times in real gravel conditions.

Proven on the Podium
Co-developed alongside professional gravel racer Russell Finsterwald, the G85 CezalRS has been refined directly on the race course. Finsterwald rode a prototype build to victory at Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) Arizona 2026 and secured a top-20 finish at The Traka 360. His feedback directly influenced the final product.
Russell FINSTERWALD said: ”Co-developing the G85 CezalRS and racing it straight to victory in demanding races showed me what this bike can do. It responds instantly when you attack, and it handles so predictably that you can stay relaxed and fast over hours of rough gravel. You never have to back off.”
Romain SIMON, Bike Product Manager, LOOK Cycle, said: “With the G85 CezalRS, we didn’t want to force riders to choose between weight and capability, so we built one platform that covers virtually every scenario. Our road team knows aerodynamics inside out, which is exactly why we chose not to trade off rider control for marginal aerodynamic gains.”
