The Bristol-based cycling luggage specialist launches two new colourways across a selected product range; a milestone moment for a brand built on the principle that function comes first.
Since its founding, Tailfin has operated in a world of black. Not from lack of ambition, but from a clear design philosophy: build bags that disappear into the bike, that do exactly what they promise, suit any bike regardless of colour, and that last. Fast fashion and ‘limited run’ gimmicks are not in its nature. Colour, when it arrived, would have to earn its place.
That moment has finally come. Tailfin is today announcing two new colourways: Kentucky Bluegrass and Candy Mountain. Available across a carefully curated bag range aimed at adding pop to your ride and a slight nod to individualism. For a brand that has never offered colour before, it’s a genuinely significant step.
The Colourways
Candy Mountain is a warm, light sand-and-stone two-tone that brings an earthy, understated calm to the range. It reads quietly on the bike: natural, organic, and at home on gravel roads and forest tracks alike.
Kentucky Bluegrass is a richer, more traditional pairing of khaki and olive. A nod to utility and adventure, the kind of colourway that looks better and better the more miles it accumulates.
Both colourways are available across a selection of Tailfin bags, with no price premium over the existing black options. They will become an integral part of the Tailfin range, we’re not just creating a limited edition.
The Inspirations
Kentucky Bluegrass
Ask any rider who’s spent enough nights on the road, and they’ll tell you: A good night’s sleep is a must. Our R&D Division rider Boru McCullagh has slept in hedgerows, questionable hotels, and on the floors of strangers who’ve become friends; he’s got a Rolodex of trip tales. But ask him for his favourite sleeping spot, and he won’t hesitate: Kentucky Bluegrass, that’s the best mattress out there.
So when it came to naming our new green colourway, the choice seemed obvious: nothing beats waking up in the green.
Candy Mountain
Long days in the saddle need a soundtrack, and every rider’s got one song that won’t leave their head. For us, it’s the old Americana singalong “Big Rock Candy Mountain”, a hazy, too-good-to-be-true utopia that always feels one ridge further than it should.
It’s a feeling every bikepacker knows: the promise of somewhere better is always just out of reach. Now, it’s right there with you on the bike.
