Aerospace Engineering for the “Unpaved”
The heart of the new Jocassee lies in its sophisticated carbon architecture. Utilizing Toray T1000 aerospace-grade carbon fiber in high-stress zones, Boyd has created a rim that is not only lighter but significantly more resilient. During production, the rims are subjected to high-pressure molding to ensure an ultra-compact resin-to-fiber ratio that eliminates structural voids. This results in a rim that can survive over 120J of impact (3 times the UCI requirement).
The result is a rim that survives extreme impact forces, far exceeding standard safety requirements, making it one of the strongest lightweight gravel wheels on the market.
